Asset registration: the asset register
A one-off project: ABTS surveys the sites on the network and hands the customer an asset register — codes from a single hierarchy, specifications, installation location and an assessment of technical condition. The result belongs to the customer and stays with them.
Why you need a register
Until the equipment is written down, the owner does not know what is installed and in what condition, which unit a failure belongs to, what a site costs to own, or whether two sites can be compared. The register makes contractor reports something you can actually check.
What the customer gets
A consolidated register for the whole network, exports for your accounting systems, a technical-condition report for every site with its list of defects, and a codebook setting out the codes and coding rules.
Structure of the register: five levels
Site, process system, equipment, assembly, part. The classification covers storage, dispensing, receipt, pumping and loading, metering and accounting, automation, power supply, fire and security systems, IT and communications, the retail area, and buildings and grounds.
Three identifiers
A type designation, an instance code and a functional position. Move a piece of equipment and only its position changes; the repair and calibration history stays with the instance code.
Registration levels
Basic, Standard, Enhanced, Full — from the make-up of systems and their installation points up to a photo record of every unit and a link to the inventory numbers in your books.
What is not included
Repairs and commissioning, fixing the defects we find, metrological calibration, and inspection of concealed structures that would have to be opened up.
